Meet Ia

img-3051.pngAward Winning International Fashion Designer, Ia Faraoni is best known as the prolific force behind Ia’s Threads, a brand known mainly for their exotic, stylish and eco-friendly handbags and Minaudière that uses innovative sustainable textile invention. She was named one of Remodista's 2019 and 2020 Women2Watch in Business Disruption Honorees, a list of retail executives from around the globe solving complex and forward-thinking challenges in all areas of global business.

 Ia Faraoni, mother of two boys and Philantrophist is a woman on a mission born and raised in the Philippines. She is the Co-Founder of Ira's Helping Hands, a mission trip that provides backpacks and schools supplies to hundreds of children in the Philippines and provide feeding program for undernourished children. She is also an Honorary Advisor of NGO Committee On Sustainable Development-NY, an NGO officially associated with the UN Department Of Global Communications. She is a board member of Warwick Valley Chamber Of Commerce Board Of Directors, and a sitting member of Combined US and Australian Retail Committees Global Innovation Council of HALO Business Community.
 
Fashion has always been an important part of her life growing up, helping her parents in the family fashion store in a mountain province in the Philippines. She aims to break the cycle of poverty and at the same time, connect cultural differences through fashion by bringing Philippine-made products to the American mainstream and the global market. That led her to pursue her passion while aspiring to make a difference in people’s lives through fashion and design.
 
With a mission to lead a revolutionary change for people and planet through ethical and sustainable fashion, she combined her leadership experience that she gleaned from when she was elected at age 18 as the youngest municipal council member at a local government unit in Davao del Norte, together with her degree in business and love for fashion by launching Ia’s Threads bags in 2017. These Sustainable Luxury Handbags and Minaudière are intricately handwoven from natural Buri tree fibers produced from exotic provinces in the Philippines and create variety of jobs and income to many communities and families of weavers. Her mission is not only to provide rare style and everyday elegance that will make women feel empowered and confident with how they look but also to highlight environmental awareness and sustainability. Each handmade piece is designed and handcrafted to a standard of perfection, to sprinkle hints of the exotic and bring out a woman's inner beauty with infusions of love, fun, and adventure.
 
Ia debuted her Zero-Waste Fashion Dress Collection in 2018. These Zero-Waste Fashion Dresses are constructed from up-cycled textiles combined with eco-friendly T'nalak fabrics which in line with Ia’s Threads commitment to sustainable fashion. She showcased her "Hold Me Now" Clutches and Minaudière collection in Paris, France where she was awarded as Best International Designer and Eventful Line Fall 2018 by CMG. Her designs have also been seen at sold out shows during New York Fashion Week.
 
Ia’s Threads Minaudière and Zero-Waste Fashion Dresses have been worn by celebrities and have been published at international magazines including Fashion Avenue News Magazine and the cover of BB Magazine May 2019 Issue. She has also been featured at FOX 5 DC News Morning for Sustainable Fashion Segment. Ia's designs have been seen on television fashion segments including Home and Family show fashion segment on Hallmark Channel.
